A post after a long lay off. I thought of jotting down a couple of very small findings which occured to me during the past couple of days. These are so very simple many would ignore it but they were useful to me.

I'm working on a linux box home doing some work and now realising all the good things we get bundled up in windows :). But I've learnt a few linux trickes along my struggle and vi is probably the leader. I had to resolve to vi for some work and found out how strong this text editor still is. Go here to learn a bit of vi(m).

Have u ever wondered whether u'r java editor is using tabs or spaces? Using tabs in source code is not encouraged since people using different editors with different settings can get really pissed off when the code gets un-aligned. So configure your IDE or text editor to use space instead of tabs. You can set the tab=4 spaces so that each time u press tab 4 spaces are typed in instead of the tab character. In eclipse (3.1) you can set this in Windows->Preference->CodeStyle->Formatter. In vi you can do :set ts=4, :set et, :s%retab and wollah...

Also these days we're working on UseCase documents and the whole team is working on couple of word documents with track changes enabled. Before sending the document to the customer after numerous internal reviews I was sane enough to wonder how to turn off all these tracks which were left behind by our reviews. During my search I realised how much of an idiot one can turn to be if he sends documents withough getting rid of tracks in the doc. One funny example was of a Resume sent with his career objective changed over and over again with track changing enabled....My career goal is to become a Doctor...hmmm no a Mail nurse...probably a patient he he.

Hey Everyone,

Couldn't update for a long time. Not that I was busy, but lazy.

Starting off with some very good news for me :). I bought a digital camera. Canon Powershot A620.

Still finding my feet on figuring out how to operate it properly.

What kind of digis u guys have and any gud resources on digital photography in web? Would like to know and share....
